As Iberia’s premier English-language theatre company for in-school performances, our plays are carefully designed by professionally trained actors and language teachers to enhance students’ understanding of the English language and to introduce them to the joys of live theatre.
Our performances last year took us throughout Portugal and Spain. To all the students and teachers we met last year we send our sincere appreciation for your enthusiastic response to our performances and we also thank you for all the wonderful letters and comments on our Facebook page.
For 2010-2011, we have three new plays. Younger students will be invited on-stage to join LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD as she meets the Big Bad Wolf and many other characters on the way to Grandmother’s house. For students ages 9-13, it’s a “yo-ho-ho” pirate adventure on the high seas in BLACKBEARD AND THE LOST TREASURE OF SKULL ISLAND. Older students will join us in solving a murder mystery in the hilarious MURDER AT THE MANOR!
All of our shows will feature carefully created age and language appropriate scripts and study guides designed by professional English-language educators, and the lavish period costumes and beautiful scenery that you have come to expect from Avalon Theatre Company shows… and, most importantly, the fun and excitement as your students join us on the stage!
We take a great deal of pride in the high quality of our productions. As you can see from our performance pictures, we bring professionally created scenery, props, lights, sound and costumes to every school. We believe that each performance is an important educational opportunity to enhance a student’s English language skills and a unique opportunity to create theatre audiences for the future!
